Babis is a tenured Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Biology of the University of Crete and an Affiliated Researcher at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) of the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH). He is a member of two Graduate Programs: "Molecular Biology and Biomedicine" and "The Molecular Basis of Human Disease".
