Spilianakis Lab

Would you like to join our lab?

SpilianakisLab is a vibrant, stimulating and friendly research community, currently consisting of the PI (Babis), two Research Assistants (Manouela and Depi), three PhD students (Petros, Anta and Chryssa), one MSc student (George) and four undergraduate Diploma thesis students.

While each lab member has her/his own project, there is a high degree of collaboration and a teamwork spirit. The broad array of biochemical, molecular and imaging methods employed, and research on animals and cell cultures, provide new members with excellent opportunities to broaden their skills. Our lab is part of the Division "Development & Gene Expression" and is housed at the IMBB which provides a highly stimulating and supportive setting for our research.

We are always looking for students and postdocs interested in research. We would encourage applications from talented and committed potential graduate students, masters' students, and postdoctoral researchers. Independent scientists (e.g. on sabbatical) and holders of postdoctoral fellowships are also welcome.

Undergraduate Students: There are several ways in joining our lab as an undergraduate student. We are currently looking for undergraduates who would like to learn more about Molecular Immunology. Interested undergrads should email Babis  an unofficial copy of their transcript and explain why they are interested in doing research in SpilianakisLab.

Graduate Students: Please email Babis if you are interested in learning more about the research performed in SpilianakisLab. To apply for one of the graduate programs that we participate please visit: "Molecular Biology Biomedicine"  and "The Molecular Basis of Human Disease".

Postdocs: Graduate students interested in doing a postdoc in SpilianakisLab should email Babis a CV, summary of research experience, and brief description of projects of interest. Researchers with experience in imaging-biochemical-molecular technologies are especially encouraged to apply.
